Survey Explores Patient Experience

ISPE Patient Initiative survey examines patient interactions with clinical trial materials

(Research Triangle Park, NC; June 13th, 2013) – Today, attendees of the Prague-based International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE) Supply Chain Conference — sponsored by Cenduit LLC, a provider of services to the pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical and medical device industries — will get a first-hand update on the global, large-scale survey currently underway to achieve feedback from patients participating in clinical trials. Cenduit is also a survey underwriter.

This comprehensive patient survey, the first project in the ISPE Patient Initiative, looks at how patients interact with the packaging of clinical trial materials, such as expiry dates, labeling, packaging – a crucial component of clinical trials. Results will enhance the pharmaceutical industry's understanding of the patient experience in areas including suitability of clinical trial packaging label information and design, interacting with clinical trial technologies, and transportation and storage.

Equally as critical to clinical trial success is a sponsor's ability to understand, reach and communicate directly with patients. Cenduit is devoted to overall patient compliance and provides services that allow study sponsors to communicate successfully fulfill these requirements.

Dr. Jogin Desai, CEO, Cenduit, says, "This survey sets the stage for further patient engagement as our understanding of their perceptions, expectations and experiences expands. We will use these results to polish the initiatives we already have in place to increase patient communication and site success."

Cenduit anticipates making an announcement later this month about an important step being taken to reinforce its commitment to enable site efficiency and patient compliance through enhanced patient communication.
