Overview:

The Technical Support Engineer supports, evaluates, recommends, and implements IT infrastructure systems and software tools with a focus on end user technical support, servers, storage, and virtualization. This position is responsible for monitoring systems to ensure overall environment stability. The Technical Support Engineer is a member of Cenduit’s Global IT Infrastructure team. 


Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Provides in-person and remote desktop support across different geographical locations to include desktops, laptops, 3rd party software, and printers/scanners/faxes

  • End user support of software applications and essential services including new hire setup and configuration

  • Support end user voice collaboration services across all site offices

  • Daily, routine checks/maintenance on servers to include reviewing various logs (backup, Event Viewer, antivirus, etc.)

  • Supports Backup and Recovery to include monitoring backups, changing tapes, and organizing offsite storage and retrieval

  • Provides in-person and remote desktop support across different geographical locations to include desktops, laptops, 3rd party software, and printers/scanners/faxes

  • Provide application support for Microsoft Office suite and Office 365

  • Manage software deployments and Windows updates via Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM)

  • Maintain IT asset inventory system

  • Monitor and administer IT Help Desk/ticketing system including job queue

  • Responsible for support and administration of anti-virus/anti-malware solution

  • Maintains technical expertise in all areas of virtualization, storage, server hardware, and software technologies in use at Cenduit

  • Able to deliver high quality service in a fast-paced and demanding IT enterprise environment

  • Assist with the development of backup/archival policies and procedures

 

Skills: 

  • Microsoft Office Products

  • Windows 10 support and administration

  • Experience using Active Directory

  • Mac OSX support and administration

  • Helpdesk/ticketing software solution

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

Education & Experience: 

  • Minimum Associate’s Degree in a computer, technology or related field, or equivalent combination of education, training and certifications

  • Minimum 2 – 3 years’ experience as a desktop support engineer or systems/network administrator

  • IT and/or Desktop Certifications preferred

  • Experience supporting physical and virtual servers in a datacenter environment preferred
