Cenduit currently has an opening for a Global Benefits and Payroll Manager to process payroll and manage benefits in 6 countries, including the US. This role will manage the entire payroll process including receiving, validating, and completing all payroll related activities. Additionally, the Payroll and Benefits Manager will be responsible for identifying and implementing continuous improvements to payroll processes; create and review payroll policies, and adhere to key financial controls and procedures. The ideal candidate will have previous experience with multiple country payrolls and/or global payroll implementation(s) as well as comprehensive knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures with payroll functions and payroll systems.
The Global Payroll & Benefits Manager will serve as the subject matter expert for both process and system. This role will work cross-functionally and is expected to effectively develop relationship with a team of HRBPs. Ideally, this person would have global payroll and benefits experience, and strong knowledge of global, federal and state employment laws with processing payroll activities.
Global Payroll Responsibilities include:
Process US payroll, exempt (semi-monthly) and non-exempt (bi-weekly), through ADP including regular processing, compliance and reporting, and setting up payroll in new jurisdictions.
Manage relationships with international payroll providers to ensure accurate processing of recurring payrolls and special payrolls for bonuses, terminations etc.
Ensure compliance with domestic and international payroll tax requirements, labor laws and record keeping regulations.
Research and track payroll and tax issues, monitor through resolution, design and maintain processes to address those issues
Responsible for ongoing system and process improvements, new system implementations and for training HR colleagues.
Lead development and implementation of payroll policies; ensure consistent enforcement of all policies
Review and approve international payroll reports and journal entries; manage responses to accounting and general ledger inquiries and issues.
Support key HR processes including employee hiring and termination, and leaves of absence
Identify opportunities for efficiency and implement time/resource saving solutions
Payroll analytics, review metrics and timely delivery of pay file(s).
Responsible for reconciling W-2 forms to ensure accurate entry of all compensation transactions (i.e. sales commission, bonuses, equity, etc.). This includes the reconciliation of the quarterly Federal and state returns and amendments.
Global Benefits Responsibilities include:
Ensure new employees enroll in benefits through ADP; confirm deductions for new hires, terminated employees and after open enrollment
Reconcile benefit invoices monthly to ensure accurate amount billed and correct deductions from employee pay
Upload H S A and 401K contributions after each payroll
Complete all end of year benefit filings including 401K non-discrimination testing, 5500 preparation and ACA filing
Manage our global suite of vendors in partnership with local HRBP support.
Review offerings against market as part of total rewards strategy
Ancillary/Financial Responsibilities include:
Oversee tax assessments, government audits and calculations
Participate in month-end, quarter-end and year-end close, and assist with reporting results
Manage sales commission agreements, calculations, recording and payment
Review staff-prepared journal entries and reconciliations for balance sheet and income statement accounts
Acts as the primary point of contact for financial audit of payroll & travel functions
Ad hoc projects as needed
You will thrive working with us if you have the following:
Thorough knowledge of federal and state laws pertaining to payroll and benefits including Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), and Worker’s Compensation Act
High-functioning, working knowledge of relevant payroll related standards, codes, GAAP, regulations and other related requirements.
Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office Suite, with a mastery in Excel for use in data reconciliation.
Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve issues independently
Ability to thrive in a dynamic and changing environment
Collaborative working style, experience working across the company, with teams of varied size, to achieve common goals
Education & Experience:
B.A. Degree in Accounting, Finance, HR or any other relevant degree.
3+ years of relevant working experience managing a comprehensive payroll process
Experience with multi-state Payrolls and both exempt and non-exempt employees.
Experience with international Payroll.
Experience with automated human resources and payroll systems
Experience with ADP and/or other Payroll systems a plus.
