Associate Director, Global IT Infrastructure - Research Triangle Park, NC
Location -
Cenduit, LLC, a joint-venture between Quintiles and ThermoFisher, is looking for an Associate Director, Global IT. Cenduit was founded in May 2007 and emerges from a robust tradition of clinical development and clinical supply chain expertise from two world leaders. Cenduit provides clients with state-of-the-art Interactive Response Technology (CIRT) to gather, analyze, and integrate data from clinical trials faster and more efficiently than ever before.
Purpose: The Associate Director, Global IT position will manage the IT function and IT staff for Cenduit’s US and international locations. Key areas of responsibility include managing hosting and control of Cenduit's flagship SaaS CIRT application and data as well as enterprise business systems. The position will work in collaboration with team members and stakeholders across the organization, ensuring the integration, coordination, timing, and consistency of IT processes. The Associate Director, Global IT reports to the Global Head of Technology for Cenduit, also based in RTP, and work closely with the Global Head of Technology on the strategic and operational aspects of IT projects and services. This position is expected to be a partner with all business disciplines to develop and execute effective business strategies based on well defined analytical models. This position is a hands-on management role with responsibility for recruitment, training, performance and development of all direct reports.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead the Global IT team in the implement, support and maintenance of Cenduit’s IT systems and data centers.
- Cost effectively manage back office IT systems (core LAN/WAN network, IT infrastructure, applications, telecom, and desktop computers) to support Cenduit’s day to day business operations.
- Manage Cenduit’s hosting IT platform, both (primary and disaster recovery), the CIRT SaaS Production application and corresponding data. Provide 24x7 support while ensuring maximum continuity of service and rapid recovery in event of failure.
- Responsible for IT service delivery, provision of timely and accurate management information and definition of key processes.
- Define IT policies, operational procedure, compliance and operational risk, capacity, release and change management.
- Assist the Global Head of Technology in defining IT strategy, roadmap and projects.
- Ensure Global IT policies, legislation and procedures are complied with; such as SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures) and CFR Part 11 compliance.
- Manage IT projects to within budget, scope and timelines while driving for maximum return on investment.
- Manage Global IT team including workloads and prioritization of duties while ensuring network/infrastructure, desktop support and application support.
- Management of Global IT system security and user access to IT systems and applications in line with industry and vendor best practice.
- Develop, manage document and test the Disaster Recover and backup plan and processes.
- Liaise with outside vendors and solution providers to research and provide guidance for the future development of the Cenduit IT system.
- Support the development of systems as needed/directed
- Provide monthly reports in relation to metrics and progress as agreed. Communicate progress on action items, difficulties and risks as often as necessary to keep management fully informed regarding issues and concerns relating to IT.

Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Technology or related field.
- 15 years IT experience with at least 5 years management experience leading an IT infrastructure team across multiple locations, servicing internal and external customers
- 3 years experience managing a SaaS Hosting environment preferable for an eClinical application such as IVR, EDC, CTMS, etc.
- 10 years of knowledge of Microsoft and networking technologies
- Extensive knowledge in setting up and managing virtual environments using VMWare, additional experience with NetApps for virtual storage a plus
- Demonstrated SQL Server Database Administration and databases optimization experience
Domestic and International travel required up to 25%.
